Competition that was held at Jazzbones, May 31st --  the winner of the solo/duo team that will travel to Memphis in January 2016 to represent SSBA -- Doug Skoog and Brian Feist.

Congratulations to The Linda Myers Band, King Kom Beaux, S.A.S.S. and the CD Woodbury Band for finishing in the top four at our Memphis preliminary competition at Jazzbones on Sunday. They will be competing on the Duke's Chowder House Stage on July 4th (3:00 PM) at the Tacoma Freedom Fair and Air Show. Winner goes to Memphis in January to compete at the International Blues Challenge
CONGRATULATIONS to King Kom Beaux! They will be representing the SSBA in January 2016 at the IBC in Memphis, Tennessee! Thank you to all that came out to support this great event; Back to Beale Street Blues 2016 fInals at Duke's Chowder House Blues Stage at Freedom Fair, July 4th. Starting at NOON following the Daffodil Parade. 4 Venues, 10 Bands featuring The Karen Lovely Band (The Swiss, 6-7:30 PM), ZEB (Harmon Brewery, 12:15-1:15 PM), and including: Palmer Junction, Chester Dennis Jones Band, CD Woodbury, James King & The Southsiders, Billy Shew Band, The Rafael Tranquilino Band, Jumpin' Josh and Felicia, Alyx and Chris Phippen.

Also, the 3rd Annual Harmon Brewery Rod and Custom Show (9:00 AM - 3:00 PM) and the AFTER PARTY at the Stonegate with Chester Dennis Jones Band and the ALL-AGES Jam hosted by Felicia Agrelius and Jumpin' Josh Violette (8:00 PM)

Live music from 3:30 - 10:30 kicked off with an open jam hosted by Paul Green followed by the Mark Riley Band, Blues Redemption and Bump Kitchen. Great BBQ provided (guests w/last names A-L asked to bring a side dish, M-Z, salad/dessert/snacks), keg (BYOB if you’d like), soft drinks and water. Lots of room for dancing and lots of great people with whom to have fun and party. Plenty of parking out in the field. Bring your tents/RV if you’d like to camp out for the night and can’t/don’t want to drive home. Coffee and breakfast the next morning. This is a family party…always! All ages are welcome, but please, NO PETS!!!

Featuring ten of Washington State's finest blues bands vying for the opportunity to represent The South Sound Blues Association at the IBC in Memphis in 2012. The top four bands will go on to compete at The 4th of July Tacoma Freedom Fair on the Ruston Way Waterfront.

In addition, three opening Solo/Duo acts will also have their sights set on a trip to the IBC. The winner of the Solo/Duo category will be announced at Jazzbones during the event.
